Claire worked very hard to ingratiate herself by working into daily life, healing the sick and wounded in order to gain her freedom from Colum and Castle Leoch. Instead she became more deeply bound by her efforts and skill. This became utterly apparent after she healed Mrs. Fitz’ nephew from poisoning. Jamie’s was the bearer of practical thoughts. The idea that now Colum would unlikely want to do without a good healer.
