This IS THE anticipated chapter. Everything in Voyager up to now has been leading here. In “There’s The Two of Us Now,” Voyager read along week 8 podcast, Claire wakes in the stone circle under a rowan tree. It’s rainy and her mind is discombobulated. When it finally clears, Jamie is her point in place and time. Claire must get to Edinburgh from Inverness to see if A. Malcolm Printer is still in business.
Anticipation builds, the story unfolds in a unique way. Claire finds herself on Carfax Close after a mere two day journey to Edinburgh.
Will he be there? Will he want her to stay? Will she find him enough like the man she left behind? …

A Dram of Outlander 
I WAS TAKEN ABACK WITH YOUR READ OF THE INTERACTION BETWEEN Claire and the family. I saw it as a case of Claire stick g the tired young mom, harassed by her 3 children. Claire’s intervention gives the poor woman a moment of joy in her children, and the opportunity to give the children a little bit of imoney. Her reaction to the woman’s appearance, was a reminder of how hard life was, not a matter of vanity. After 20 years she most likely suddenly reminded of how blessed she was. Now she is 20 years older and the difference in health appearances is even more dramatic.
Claire’s noticing everything.g Round her is a function of intelligence and her medical background. While you are helping a woman labour you are observing, cataloguing her breathing, her movement during contractions, the baby’s movements and heart anything g that creates a picture of what is happening, so you can be prepared. As medical professionals, I don’t think we ever lose that. Even though I had to retire because of health over 30 years ago, I still do the same. I think people develop empathy through inadvertently observing

It’s her method of false flattery. She had to make herself be kind and lie to the woman to get intel on her. Claire is not a vain woman and she could simple observe and see her physical advantages over most living then. Her insecure is normal having not seen Jamie…hell he could’ve gone to hell and a hand basket. Again, it’s strictly her method not the need to know.
