Laoghaire Confronts Jamie Video

In this IGN exclusive clip, Laoghaire MacKenzie is not pleased to learn that Jamie Fraser has married Claire Beauchamp while away from Castle Leoch.

If you remember, after he took a beating for the teen Laoghaire, he was seen kissing her quite industriously in the alcove. As he would say, not being a monk. (I contend his biggest mistake ever in the whole of the series because spoilers.)

After Jamie stopped paying her attention, Laoghaire asked healer Claire for a “wish” to get Jamie to care for her, to love her. She knew but refused to see Jamie did not love her or care for her romantically.

Laoghaire confronts Jamie seeking answers as to why he married Claire. He basically tells her it is a long story, he has no time to fully explain now, and it was Dougal’s plan.

This is SO infuriating to me that he did not say because though it was complicated and arranged by Dougal, that he agreed because he wanted her, loved her.

Will Laoghaire react and exact some revenge? Will she continue to want Jamie for herself?

Only time will tell…. and episodes.

Outlander Sneak Peek Blu-Ray Extras

Outlander Starz Facebook page  and Twitter account posted the sneak peek video from the blu-ray edition of season one volume one to be released March 3, 2015.

Twitter Video

Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser) introduces the clip and along with Ronald D. Moore (Producer) and Annette Badland (Mrs. Fitzgibbons) discusses the authenticity of the set. Ron points out the kitchen is based on the real kitchen of Castle Doune. That the hearth is as big as we see it onscreen in real life. Annette shares that there are real dead birds and pieces of meat hanging in the kitchen so it feels very immediate and real. Caitriona says there is no need to pretend is it a real castle. The sets feel very realistic.

The set is exquisitely beautiful and has the feel, darkness of 18th century authenticity for the viewer. I imagine it is a transforming space for the actors to easily become the character that is being played.

These extras leave me wanting to go back to Castle Leoch.

Claire Must Try

Claire realized in Episode 103 that her plan to earn her freedom through garnering trust and favor yoked her further to Colum and Castle Leoch. She made herself needed. She proved her worth.

Nay a Beaton but a finer healer than they had ever seen.

She finds herself desperate to escape. Desperate to get back to Craigh na Dun. She wants only to get back to her time, to Frank, to her life.

She undoubtedly will try as she might to meet her goal.

Ultimately, complications arise for her, Jamie and the Highlander men from her actions.

As always, I am rooting for Claire, her passion, and sometimes impractical, rash ways.
