Claire heads down to the paddock to take Jamie lunch and change his bandages. A very simple scene in premise. A very rich scene unfolds.

I felt a fly on the wall, witnessing an exchange that became more intimate with each passing shared moment.

The scene begins with Claire moving toward the corral where Jamie is skillfully working a horse. Lush scenery to behold.

Claire approaches silently and watches.

Clamor of cup. Spooks horse. Reactions strong.

Jamie sees Claire. Softens to her immediately. He says: “She’s just a girl with spirit is all. Always a good thing.” (Is he talking about the horse or Claire with that smile?)

“What can I do fer ye…?”

With offerings of lunch and bandaging to the paddock they go.

Wait for it….the crouch… Claire obviously notices.

(Her expression is priceless.)

During lunch conversation she learns much about Jamie. Things that require trust of her to him. He tells her decided to trust her instead of lying.

Back to work he is summoned.
